Yasashi Model United Nations
The inaugural edition of the Yasashi Model United Nations (YMUN) Conference was held at The Down Town School, Guwahati, the venue partner for the event. Organised by Yasashi Foundation, the conference brought together students from different institutions to engage in discussions on global issues, diplomacy, public policy, and international relations.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Noreen Rahman Boruah and attended by distinguished guests, executive board members, and delegates. The event was formally inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Amarjyoti Choudhury, former Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University, who attended as the Chief Guest, and Maya Fernandes, Principal of The Down Town School, who joined as the Guest of Honour. They were felicitated by Manobi Deka, Founder Director of Yasashi Foundation, and Dhruvaditya Das, Secretary General of Yasashi MUN.
The conference featured four committees, each focusing on a specific agenda and providing delegates with an opportunity to research, deliberate, negotiate, and propose solutions to contemporary global challenges.
The closing ceremony of Yasashi MUN 2024 marked the successful conclusion of an enriching conference. The event was graced by Brig. (Retd.) Ranjit Barthakur, former APSC Chairman, as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Jyotirmay Goswami, former CGM of Assam Carbon, as the Guest of Honour. The prize distribution ceremony reflected the conference’s success, with delegates celebrating each announcement with great enthusiasm. Their excitement and appreciation highlighted the impact of the event. Yasashi Foundation congratulates all the award winners and extends heartfelt gratitude to the Organising Committee, volunteers, mentors, and participants for making Yasashi MUN 2024 a memorable success.
