Noreen Rahman Borooah
Volunteer
Noreen Rahman Borooah joined the Yasashi Foundation in 2024 as a member of the Organising Committee for Yasashi Model United Nations (Yasashi MUN) 2024, serving as the Public Relations and Marketing Head. In this role, she played a key part in the promotion, outreach, and successful execution of the conference. Following the successful completion of the event, she formally joined the Yasashi Foundation as a Lifetime Volunteer and was appointed as the Social Media Manager of the Yasashi Youth Forum. In this capacity, she contributed to the Foundation's digital outreach by promoting various initiatives, including the Diya Campaign through Yasashi's official Instagram platform.
In 2026, she actively participated in the Diya Campaign by volunteering to paint diyas in support of the initiative. In June 2026, she also joined the Foundation's team of volunteers and interns in a community field survey, visiting the households of students enrolled at the Yasashi Education Center. The survey involved interacting with families to better understand their daily lives, educational and social challenges, and household circumstances while offering guidance, support, and awareness wherever possible. She also contributed to the systematic collection of data, enabling the Foundation to better assess community needs and plan targeted interventions.
During the summer of 2026, alongside Avighnaa Deka, she conducted an awareness session for the mothers of students at the Yasashi Education Center on the importance of women's mental health and education. As psychology students, they facilitated an open and supportive discussion aimed at increasing awareness, encouraging conversations surrounding mental well-being, and fostering a safe environment where participants could openly share their experiences and concerns. In the same summer, she also volunteered in the Lead and Learn Summer Camp, organised in collaboration with the Pratarka Foundation, contributing to educational and community development initiatives for underprivileged children.
