Priyasha Kaushik
Volunteer
Priyasha Kaushik joined the Yasashi Foundation in 2020 as its first volunteer in Delhi, playing a pioneering role in establishing and expanding the Foundation's presence in the city. Since the beginning of her association, she has worked towards strengthening volunteer engagement, community participation, and fundraising initiatives that support the Foundation's educational and social welfare programmes.
From 2020 onwards, she has led the Foundation's annual Diya Campaign in Delhi, an initiative dedicated to raising funds through community participation. What began as an individual effort has evolved into a well-established annual programme involving nearly 10 core volunteers and around 20 active participants each year. Hosted at her residence, the campaign brings together children, students, and volunteers to paint diyas that are later sold during the Diwali Fest, fostering creativity, teamwork, and a shared commitment to community service. The continued growth of the campaign reflects her dedication to building a strong culture of volunteerism and collective action.
She also spearheaded a waste paper collection and recycling drive in Delhi, encouraging sustainable practices by collecting discarded paper and transforming it into notebooks and writing pads. The initiative promoted environmental awareness while generating useful educational resources, demonstrating the Foundation's commitment to sustainability and responsible community engagement.
Further contributing to the Foundation's educational mission, Priyasha authored the Class V Environmental Studies book for the Yasashi Education Center, developing age-appropriate learning material that supports classroom education and encourages environmental awareness among young learners.
Through her leadership in volunteer mobilisation, fundraising, educational resource development, and sustainability initiatives, Priyasha has played a pivotal role in strengthening Yasashi Foundation's outreach beyond Assam. Her contributions reflect her vision of building a volunteer-driven organisation that empowers communities through education, collective action, and the belief that small acts of kindness can create lasting social change.
